Cosmic Snails 2024

This is a collection of different snails. Some snails feature the golden ratio or Fibonacci series of numbers – 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13…! I wanted to incorporate that bit of order to the shell and leave some of the grid below showing through. Other snails feature regular spirals. Other paintings depict the snail shaped structure of the inner ear. A couple snails have a rainbow for a shell to celebrate the graphic reoccurring shape of an arc.
