Musket Ball Cluster

All of the mini canvases 5x7 inches are named for galaxy clusters. I’m using names of big things to name small things. It’s like when the tall fat guy is nicknamed “Tiny.” Reading on Wikipedia about galaxy clusters….Musket Ball Cluster is old and slow. Snails are relatively slow and so the comparison fits.

Bottom side of this one contains a tree from a previous painting of a forest. The tree remains because a snail can live in a forest. Snails are part of the calcium cycle they get calcium from the soil + concentrate it in their shells. Then other animals eat them + get the calcium.

Blue gradient sky and dark blue top. Gradient of the sky wraps around the top and sides.

On canvas that’s 1.5 inches deep.
