This painting has everything that makes a painting fun to look at depth, feeling, texture, bits of pattern AND A CARDINAL. The male is a bit of an attention hog, but I don’t mind since that’s how things work in the bird world. There are few females in there for you to discover and maybe some other male cardinals are flying very quickly through the background. The trees wrap around the side. The bottom has a green wash so some of the process is visible, and it’s cleaned up. The top is light blue – the sky above the forest.
