Here we have the tiny paintings that carry all the friendship and stamina of the larger works in this collection. Some include letters from the dry-cleaning tags and snippets of the poem that inspired the series (you can spot them in the process photos).
I painted these miniatures for people with smaller walls or smaller budgets. This is my way of sharing the work more widely and warmly in these uncertain times. They are after all about connectedness. If you stepped into my studio over the last few weeks, you’d find flashes of orange everywhere. They are little bursts of sunlight (makes the orages grow). I hope these miniatures bring that same spark into your space: the warmth of community, the ease of friendship, and the quiet hope that helps us all keep going (press on).
